I've been with this company for 2 yrs now, straight outta of school. We are using VB6 for our client because of their slow software and so that their IT staff can maintain the code easier when the project is complete. I'm learning .Net. I've spent considerable time on VB.Net. I am wondering if I should instead spend that time teaching myself C#. Any suggestions?
Which would you hire/pay more? VB.Net or C# developer?
vb.net will pay you enough. but knowing c# wont hurt
Reply:I'd say C# just because MS seems to support it better and the syntax is very similar to java, but I must admit I'm biased towards C#.
Reply:It isn't really a question of which language pays more, but of where the demand is in the market in which you are looking for a job, or with the company you work for.
You could do a survey of various local job sites and classifieds to see which languages are in demand. You could also talk to a recruiter in your area to get an idea.
